No, the FSM is a parody which, ironically, probably has a greater following than ID. Scientists don't require gods to fill in the unknowns - it always leaves something to explore. There is plenty that can be caused by genuine intelligent design such as computers, cars etc. What you fail to grasp is that until SETI proves otherwise the highest level of intelligence is human. You'd just be hard-pushed to recognise it in some aspects of our society.

Brian you misunderstand the SETI project, and ID theory. Whether SETI gets signals from human or some other intelligence is irrelevant. The signals coming from outer space could be the result of human intelligence or they may be another intelligent agent. ID is not set on differentiating human from other intelligent sources, all ID does is identify patterns as the result of intelligence. You are fixated on WHO the designer is. We are not.
Reminds me of the thing where you are playing scrabble with friends, and the words they place on the board are, "TAKE", "US", "OUT", "TO", "DINNER", "CHEAP", "SKATES".
